The Therapeutic Potential of Ashwagandha for Stress Management

Abstract
Stress management is essential in many neuropsychiatric disorders like anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Many people seeking a natural remedy for stress reduction have turned to ashwagandha, an herbal supplement from ancient Southeast Asia. Its popularity has grown from Southeast Asia to Western countries for its multiple benefits related to lowering stress and anxiety levels. Although, the clinical effectiveness of ashwagandha has not been established, its proposed mechanisms of action and clinical trials show evidence of its efficacy and safety in realtively healthy individuals.
